Accessibility Statement

HELLWEG – ein LICHTWEG e.V. is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with the provisions of the German "Barrierefreie-Informationstechnik-Verordnung" (BITV 2.0), which implements the Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council.

Status of Conformance

The accessibility of this website was assessed via a self-assessment.

Based on this review, this website is partially conformant with the requirements of BITV 2.0 and WCAG 2.1 Level AA due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non-Accessible Content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons:

  • 1. Missing alternative texts for images (WCAG 1.1.1 Non-text Content)

    • Images on the homepage and in the galleries do not have descriptive alternative texts. Therefore, their content is not accessible to screen reader users.
  • 2. Missing main heading (WCAG 1.3.1 Info and Relationships)

    • The homepage lacks a main heading (<h1>). This makes it more difficult for users of assistive technologies to understand the page structure and navigate efficiently.
  • 3. Missing subtitles for video content (WCAG 1.2.2 Captions (Prerecorded))

    • The embedded video on the website is provided without subtitles (captions), making the audio content inaccessible to users with hearing impairments.

We are working to address these issues.

Date of Preparation
