Since May 2001, the city of Unna has been home to the Center for International Light Art, the world's first and only museum devoted exclusively to light art. Opened in the former Linden Brewery in Unna, light art finds a presentation space here that could not be more fascinating. Among the artists on display here are: Christian Boltanski, Joseph Dinnebier, Olafur Elisasson, Rebecca Horn, Joseph Kosuth, Mischa Kuball, Christina Kubisch, F. Morellet, K. Sonnier and James Turrell.
The work of the artist Mario Merz on the chimney of the former Linden Brewery is part of the project "Hellweg - a path of light".
