A green vortex intermittently becomes visible in the water of the Lippe. Without any discernible cause, it forms on the surface of the water, while the water slowly colours itself gleaming green. The vortex gains in power, and the light intensity grows in parallel. After that, the vortex slowly calms down again, and parallel to that the green gleam also goes out. “Undine” is like a magic green eye, briefly lighting up in the river, luring walkers to the water like the mythical water-being after who Claudia Schmacke named her installation.
