The light sculpture “River Watchman” consists of two tilted steel pipes of different lengths, the longer of the two sticks culminating in a glowing white luminary. The two are – apparently – enclosed by an ellipsoidal ring, on which a rectangular, gleaming yellow luminary (lantern) is suspended. The simple geometry of the shapes of this sculpture is supported by an abundance of associations, their clean lines by a poetically exotic appearance: a town gate – watchman at the intersection between urban and rural space.
